Manager - Equipment Repair Centre (m/f/x)
Abuja, Port Harcourt, Nigeria
As Manager of an Equipment Repair Centre within our Plant & Equipment Department (PED), you will play a key role in an innovative and dynamic company. You will be responsible for multiple workshops at one of our major locations, lead and develop a dedicated team, optimize operational processes, and ensure that our machines are consistently maintained in top technical condition - leveraging your technical expertise and passion for machinery.
Requirements
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leadership & Team Coordination: You will manage a motivated team of 50–300 employee, Workshop Supervisors as well as technical staff across multiple workshops
2. Technical Expertise: You will oversee maintenance, repair, and inspection activities across a broad range of plant, construction, and support equipment, ensuring consistent technical standards and high-quality execution throughout workshop operations.
3. Process Optimization: You will develop and implement efficient workflows to enhance workshop performance
4. Customer Liaison: You will coordinate with customers, field service, and your team to deliver quick and accurate solutions
5. Safety & Quality Management: You will ensure the highest safety standards and maintain the quality of machines at all times
WHAT SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE ?
1. Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or similar; Master’s in Engineering or Industrial Management is a plus
2. 5–10 years’ experience in heavy equipment, plant, or vehicle maintenance, including preventive and corrective work
3. Minimum 5 years in a leadership or management role
4. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
5. Proven ability to manage technical, operational, and financial responsibilities in complex fleet or construction environments
6. Clear, confident communication skills with both teams and customers
7. A safety-, quality-, and results-driven mindset
8. English proficiency (B2/C1)
